Patient Billing/Services Representative II (JR83362)

The position will be the initial contact for youth seeking services at The SPOT and therefore serves a critical role to offer a welcoming, affirming introduction to the center, and registering them for services.  The SPOT is a high volume youth center for ages 13-24 and offers medical and behavioral health services. The role requires excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, detailed-oriented documentation, and effective communication with youth and staff.

Student opportunities

Practicum and internships are an important part of the development of future professionals. To enrich the experience of practicum students, Project ARK and The SPOT offer practicum and internship opportunities. Practicum students and interns provide an important resource to ensure that Project ARK and The SPOT can further the mission. We seek students committed to social justice and health. We accept students from a variety of disciplines including: social work, public health, counseling and related fields.

All students will be required to complete an on-boarding process set by Washington University School of Medicine. This process will require the completion of an online HIPAA training, record of immunizations, flu vaccine, drug and background checks and completion of the confidentiality agreement.

Practicum experiences may include

  • Assisting staff and clients with community resources
  • Creation and implementation of health education materials (social media, flyers, presentations)
  • Program evaluation and research of best practices

  • Spring semester: October 15th
  • Summer/Fall semester: – March 1st
